Over 118,000 young people in the UK face homelessness. Too many of them are being turned away, forgotten or ignored. Add your name if you agree that no young person should be left without the support they need

Every year, thousands of young people facing homelessness seek support from their local council. But the really shocking thing is that right now, one-third of these young people in England don’t even get an assessment, let alone the support they need.

This means extremely vulnerable young people – including those who are pregnant, have severe mental health issues or are fleeing domestic abuse – are left without the support they need. Many end up homeless and sleeping on the streets.

As councils struggle to meet the demands of the soaring levels of youth homelessness, urgent action from the government is needed to stop this situation from deteriorating further. Join with us as we call for:

Ring-fenced funding from central government to give councils the resources they need to support young people facing homelessness.
Rewriting the Homelessness Code of Guidance so it includes a section on young people.
The government to make sure councils follow the Homelessness Reduction Act – and act when they do not.
